WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Dec. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- A used car dealership in the Triad area of NC, Frank Myers Auto Maxx, was recently recognized by Inc. Magazine as being one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in America.  The awards gala was held October 15-17, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ and featured Martha Stewart, Michael Dell of Dell Computers, Bob Parsons of GoDaddy.com and other notable speakers. Past members of the INC list include Facebook, Yelp, Pandora, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Jamba Juice, Timberland, ClifBar, Domino’s Pizza, Oracle and Zipcar. In addition to Frank Myers Auto Maxx, this years list added such powerhouses as Sweetfrog Yogurt, Toughmudder and Otterbox.

“Without sounding egotistical, it was no surprise when Inc. named us one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in America for the third year in a row. When every member of a Team  works together towards a common goal and shares the same vision, it’s amazing what can be achieved. The Frank Myers Auto Maxx Team is proof of that and I am humbled by what they have accomplished. My hope is that when my great-grandfather opened the first Frank Myers store more than 85 years ago, he had a vision that his family would still be successfully serving people in the Triad area of NC in 2014. ”

The 2014 Inc. list, unveiled online at Inc.com and with the top 500 companies featured in the September 2014 issue of Inc., is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. The average company on the list achieved a mind-boggling three-year growth of 516%. The Inc. 5000’ s aggregate revenue is $211 billion, generating 505,000 jobs over the past three years.

"What surprises me, even though I know it’s coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “This year there are far more social media and far fewer computer hardware businesses than there were, say, six years ago. But what doesn’t change is the fearsome creativity unleashed by American entrepreneurship.”

This is the Third consecutive year that the Winston-Salem, NC based used car dealership has been on the list.

The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2011. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.
