Thriller Writer Inspired By Local Council Initiative

AYLESBURY, U.K. - Dec. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Dec 10th 2014 Aylesbury, Bucks – British author Ian Coates, born and schooled near Basildon in Essex, England, announced today that his debut thriller is to be released on Jan 20th by Bad Day Books, an imprint of U.S. publisher Assent Publishing. It will be available in paperback from on-line and high street bookshops as well as in e-book formats.

Ian’s journey to publication started 35 years ago when he won the Writer of the Year Competition run by Basildon council. It’s that trophy, which he has kept prominently on his desk ever since, that encouraged him to complete a full length adult novel. The thriller was written largely in moments grabbed during business trips on planes and in airport lounges.

In Eavesdrop, smuggling and industrial sabotage leave Customs Investigator James Winter’s career in tatters. Who arranged his dismissal, and what’s their link to Middle East Assassins?

Ian has worked in the high tech electronics industry since graduation, and it was his experience in that field that gave him the inspiration for his thriller.
