MILLERSVILLE, Md. - Dec. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Companion Bridge, a crowdsourcing website which helps bring funding to pets with significant health problems, achieves a major milestone in its short history as a non-profit organization. The company announced that it has now helped to acquire medical expense funding for its 25th pet and pet parent.

Companion Bridge launched in June of 2013 and since that time it has come to the aid of now its 25th pet and pet parent. The organization uses its website and social media to help facilitate funding for a pet that has major health issues and needs care that the pet parent would not be able to afford. It also helps to connect these pets with the appropriate medical resources. Ultimately, many pet parents face situations with their pets where they are left with no other option but to euthanize, simply because the medical expenses are unaffordable for them. Companion Bridge has helped facilitate the funding of medical care to pets in situations such as lifesaving tumor removals, to wheels for dogs with broken backs, and everything in between.

The 25th pet was a Great Dane named Remi who needed surgery to remove some screws from a prior surgery that had shifted and were causing extreme pain. Companion Bridge facilitated the raise of the cost of surgery and it successfully took place, shortly after the funding. Remi is recovering and will soon be back to full health and happiness. Megan, her pet parent, had this to say about the help she received from Companion Bridge: “I couldn’t be more grateful for the help I received from Companion Bridge. They helped spread Remi’s story to a wide range of people, and all of the sudden we had the ability to pay for the surgery. We are so happy!”

Companion Bridge was founded by two friends. One a pet parent who raised a beloved blind, Great Pyrenees named Tonka who battled with ailments which he bravely fought through until the end, the story can be found here at The Journey of Tonka. The founder’s passion for helping people and pets left with little options has been matched by a quickly growing community of supporters.
