Follow on Google News | Boardwalk Empire Star Michael K. Williams to Be Honored At the 8th Annual HERO AwardsBy: Book Bank Foundation Michael K. Williams exemplifies the event’s “Walk A Mile In My Shoes” theme, having faced many personal challenges in his pursuit of stardom. Over the last several years, Mr. Williams has worked with his organization, “Making Kids Win”, a charitable organization whose primary objective is to build community centers in urban neighborhoods that are in need of safe spaces for children to learn and play. His vision is one of the many reasons why he is this year’s HERO Award Recipient. The Book Bank Foundation’s HERO Awards is the brainchild of celebrity sports agent and philanthropist Dr. Glenn Toby. The Awards brings together members of the entertainment community to benefit the BBF’s mission of boosting youth literacy and advocating for the homeless as well as celebrate those who are actively dedicated to philanthropy. Shabazz Brothers Clothing, the evening’s co-sponsor, will be hosting a Fashion Show, previewing items from their 2015 Collection. Shabazz Brothers Clothing’s founder and New York native, Shabazz Fuller, has deep roots in the Harlem and a passion for elevating the youth in his community. To this end, Mr. Fuller and Dr. Toby will be offering internships to a couple of fortunate young men and women, allowing them to learn about self-worth through entrepreneurship. The 8th Annual HERO Awards will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 6pm at The Park 112 located at 2080 Frederick Douglass Blvd, New York, NY 10026. Admission to the fundraiser is $25.00 with a toy and $50.00 without one. All donations are tax deductible.
