Junior Program at Commack Y-JCC

DETAILS: For Boys & Girls

•   Location: Suffolk Y JCC, Commack, NY

•   Times: 5 – 9 pm: players will play in one of these sessions every week switching between the 2 sessions.

  o Broken down into nightly session based on the # of players in the program.

  o Different age groups will practice/play during part of this period. A schedule will be posted at beginning of program on www.eevb.net under Juniors > Commack Junior Program > Master Schedule

•   Fee: $180/child ($200 if paid after December 23, PLEASE PRE-REGISTER FOR LOWEST FEE) Includes Sunday practice sessions with coaches.

  o Additional fees will be charged as follows:

          Travel to USAV Tournaments at sites throughout NYC Metropolitan Region. We may take top players to these higher level events which will require a one-time $55 USAV Membership fee plus a share of the $200+ team entry fee and coaches expenses. This option will be offered by each groups coaches based on how well the teams are doing and it they have a willingness to travel and challenge themselves at higher level tournaments.

          Uniform for tournament play, costs TBA in the $15 to $75 range depending on the uniform quality.

•   Ages: 10 to 18. Boys & Girls: separate age divisions will be offered for boys and for girls based on # of players in each division, age groups may be merged.

  o Players will be broken down by age groups and gender based on USAV criteria.

          18 & Under: Players who were born on or after 9/1/96 and a high school student in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during some part of the current academic year.

          16 & under: Players who were born on or after 9/1/98

          14 & under: Players who were born on or after 9/1/00

          12 & under: Players who were born on or after 9/1/02

Juniors will be broken into teams for practice and tournament play based on age and skill levels.

  There will be teams for players with very little experience up to players with advanced skills.

  One or two coaches will be assigned to each team for practices and tournament play. Players can be moved during season to a different level team at the discretion of the coaches.

    Players may have the option to compete in weekend tournaments against other teams outside the club program at USAV Junior Tournaments. We will try to match up players who want to compete in additional weekend tournaments with coaches who want to travel. Additional fees will be required to play in these weekend tournaments.

Tournaments: 2 mini-tournaments/scrimmages will be held at the Commack Y-JCC for all players:

     • Feb. 15, 2015

     • March 29, 2015

Tournament broken down into sessions to be announced by age group.

     • 2-5 pm

     • 5-9 pm

How To Register:

     • Pay full entry fee at Active.com.

     • Volley America Memberships (Required for all players): $15/player if done online, $20 if done at the gym (not recommended). Membership expires 12/31 of the current calendar year.(Any membership after Nov. 1 will run through 12/31 of the following calendar year, 14 months)

     • Click for Volley America online registration: then include your new membership # on the roster.

     • ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE Volley America #s BEFORE THE FIRST NIGHT OF PLAY.

     • Volley America member list is online if you have already registered and don’t know a player’s #
