European Parliament Friends of a Free Iran conference On confronting Iran nuclear threat and ISIS

BRUSSELS - Dec. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Brussels - On Wednesday, December 10, in a conference at the European parliament, Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, warned: To stop Iranian regime from acquiring the nuclear bomb, the West needs to show decisiveness.

She underlined: This nuclear program enjoys no legitimacy before the Iranian people. According to government senior officials, 12 million of Iranian people suffer from hunger. They do not want the continuation of this program.

Rajavi pointed to the increase in the extent of atrocities by the extrimists in Syria, Iraq and asked: Why the Western governments are not standing up to a regime that is the “Godfather of ISIS” with a record much worse than ISIS. So, how could European governments justify their silence vis-à-vis the regime’s suppression? More regrettable is the fact that the regime’s lobby has been encouraged to promote collaboration with the Iranian regime as the solution to fight ISIS. This is not a solution, but a recipe for disaster.

In another part of her speech Mrs. Rajavi said: The regime is entangled in a destructive power struggle at the top and the Iranian society is deeply discontent and on the verge of another uprising.
