BALTIMORE - Dec. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Rosedale, Maryland (December 9, 2014) – This week, Gamse Lithography Co. (http://www.gamse.com/) and its printing operation represent Maryland and over a century of manufacturing on AOL’s This Built America (http://www.thisbuiltamerica.com/maryland)editorial series.

When Dan Canzoniero became Gamse’s owner in 1991 he thought he was buying a traditional family business—like Gamse had been since its founding in 1896. But with the industry undergoing ‘a major catharsis’ during the Great Recession, Gamse needed to make changes. After Dan’s son Jimmy joined the team, Gamse entered the modern era by:

·      Investing in new technology, like higher speed lithograph printers—improving job turnaround time.

·      Adding two robots to the factory floor—freeing employees from work they found monotonous while receiving training on the printing process.

·      Introducing digital printing. “It’s our highest growth area of business,” says son Jimmy Canzoniero.

·      Embracing new work customs that see employees work for shorter periods at the company while making the time mutually beneficial.

Gamse Lithography Co. joins a national movement in This Built America that is devoted to supporting American companies and American-made products. AOL is proud to support the effort along with sponsor Ford Trucks. Through the year, the editorial and video teams will explore 50 states in 50 weeks to bring 50 stories of the people who are bringing back manufacturing to America. The platform is produced in coordination with Man Made Content.
