OFFERS CHARITY DONATION FOR EACH LOCALLY-SOURCED TREAT OR GIFT PURCHASED

Washington, D.C.– Launched today by Gardner Prescott Technology Ventures (GPTV) and Nice On Demand, the Nicely mobile app was developed from the idea that everyone could benefit from more random acts of kindness.  Nicely makes it easy for Washingtonians to be “nice” and recognize family, friends, coworkers and service providers with thoughtful, hand-crafted gifts and treats from DC’s finest small businesses.

Nicely allows users to purchase affordable gifts from local merchants via mobile app. Free, same-day delivery is included with every purchase. Starting December 1^st, Nicely launched the #BeNice campaign, a campaign that reaffirms the company’s mission to encourage and spread kindness while also pledging to donate to a charity committed to the advancement of our Washington community.  Nicely will donate $1 from every purchase to Food and Friends, a DC charity whose mission is “to foster a community caring for men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses by preparing and delivering specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with nutrition counseling.” GPTV will match the contributions raised by Nicely’s #BeNice campaign.

Nicely is available for free on the iTunes App Store and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. An Android app will be available January 2015.

How Nicely works:

Download the free Nicely app in the Apple App Store: appstore.com/nicelyappgifts.

Sign in with Facebook or register using an email and password.

Select and purchase your gift with a credit card.

Enter the name of your recipient with a customized note and their delivery address.

If ordered by noon, your gift will be delivered the same-day. If ordered after noon, your gift will be delivered the next business day. Orders are delivered Monday through Friday.
