Little Angels Preschool in Ypsilanti Lends a Helping Hand This Christmas

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Dec. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- John Putala, Preschool Program Teacher at Little Angels Preschool in Ypsilanti is looking for donations in the month of December for his Organization for Individual Advancement.

“I was always interested in psychology and helping people, I got my bachelors and master degrees in psychology,” says Mr. Putala. “I enjoy doing what I can to help people, and sadly in Detroit a lot of people need help.”

The toys are being collected and donated by Little Angels Preschool in Ypsilanti and the Word Explosion Outreach; a church/nonprofit Mr. Putala works with frequently.  Most of the toys will be given out to families that are on the list considered as needy.  These are families that have difficulty paying bills and keeping stable housing. Other toys will be given to shelters to give to the children of residents. The church uses a building off 7-Mile and Evergreen in Detroit, so some of the parents and children will come there to pick up the toys, while others are being delivered before Christmas.

“Last year we were able to give a lot of toys to needy children.  This year I thought since I'm working at the preschool it would be a good idea to see if any of the parents of the kids or my co-workers would be interested in helping out with donating toys.  The more the merrier!”
