Dec. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- A photography student at Sheffield Hallam University has won a competition hosted by a leading housebuilder with an eye-catching image titled ‘Bright Future’.

Arron Woolley, 19, originally from Walsall but now living in Sheffield, entered the Miller Homes 'Great Locations’ competition which aimed to encapsulate all that is great about where people live.

“I was so pleased to hear that I had won and that my work has been recognized re-inforcing the studies that I am doing to build my future career,” said Arron. “I shall use the voucher to extend my lens collection which will give me even more flexibility and creativity in the images that I can create.

Arron’s image ‘Bright Sparks’ shows Sheffield at night, “I was inspired by the dynamic contrasts in darkness and artificial light that brings the ‘City of Steel’ alive after dark,” said Arron.

Steve McElroy sales director Mille Homes Yorkshire commented: “We had some fantastic entries but this one really caught the eye of our judge; professional photographer Shaun Flannery.  It shows the beauty of Sheffield at night and also great skill in the way that Arron has captured the image.”

Shaun Flannery added: “This image shows a great understanding of night time photography and is a refreshingly different take on a cityscape shot. It’s a little bit quirky and the way he has incorporated his subject into the foreground and the sparklers shows great creativity.”

Arron, along with winners from the five other Miller Homes regions has won an Amazon voucher, and a framed picture of his winning image which will be displayed in a local Miller Homes show home.

Steve concluded, “Location is often one of the most influential deciding factors when people choose their new home and this competition was designed to capture some iconic images of Yorkshire. We offer Arron our warmest congratulations and wish him every success with his studies and future career.”

Miller Homes currently has twelve developments located across the region. Properties range from one bedroom apartments to five bedroom executive homes in city centre locations to rural idylls.

The housebuilder will be opening a new development in the Norton Green area of Sheffield during 2015.
