Holiday Art Fair at Ascent Contemporary Projects

NEW YORK - Dec. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Ascent Contemporary Projects is pleased to present a Holiday Fair featuring over 40 original works by New York City artists, Lisa Kellner, Jain Kwak, Anne Polashenski, Manuel Vazquez, and Dave Rittinger.The show will highlight a diverse collection of paintings, drawings, stamp work, artist-made objects, and sculptural designs incorporating shadow and light.

The Holiday Fair offers opportunity for purchase of the art as well as a chance to speak with the artists and gain insight into their inspirations and creative process.

Vazquez uses an array of unconventional materials to create a whimsical and humorous experience through his art.  His lighthearted structures and design lend themselves to interpretation and approachable discussion. He notes on his signatures MaVa doll collection:

“The most important discovery or inspiration resulting from my arts study was the MaVa Culture doll concept. Have begun this, I became a wellspring of design, and everything flowed from this initial step. It was like a door opening, and ideas began gushing out.”

Fellow artist, Lisa Kellner’s oil paintings are rooted in personal experience. Her brooding, minimalistic images weigh heavy in stark contrast to Vazquez’s quirky constructions. The holiday fair will introduce a variety of work starting at $125.

Ascent Contemporary Projects is a New York City art Gallery, promoting emerging and mid-career artists through pop up exhibitions and events. In addition, Ascent Contemporary provides curatorial services and works to bridge the gap between artist and art seeker by creating a welcoming environment that encourages engagement and dialogue.
