LOS ANGELES - Dec. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- dinCloud (http://www.dincloud.com/), a cloud services provider that helps businesses rapidly migrate to the cloud through business provisioning (http://www.dincloud.com/business-provisioning), today announced that its HTML5-based hosted virtual desktop (HVD) solution, webHVD (http://www.dincloud.com/webhvd), is now available on Android (https://www.dincloud.com/webhvd-goes-android/) devices. By widening the selection of devices that webHVD can be used from, dinCloud is providing added convenience to its customers, allowing access to their workspace, regardless of which mobile device is used.

Existing webHVD customers can download the free Android app at the Google Play store (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=webhvd) by searching “webHVD” from their phone or tablet. According to Google Play, the webHVD application is supported on more than 5,000 devices, including Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets. WebHVD can also be accessed from Windows, Mac, and Linux desktops through the Google Chrome browser.

Fast, secure, and easy to deploy, webHVD supports Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, YouTube, Netflix, and more, and is ideal for businesses with 50 or more Windows desktops.  webHVD is an excellent replacement for remote access VPNs and other technologies that allow access from home or remote locations. No backend or VDI setup is required, allowing customers to provision, access, or upgrade a turnkey desktop within minutes.

Aside from webHVD’s superior ability to handle video, and fast input/output with speed and ease, the Android app brings an added sense of freedom and security to customers and includes:

Android smartphone and tablet functionality

Anytime accessibility (with the aid of a cellular data plan)

Security – requires the user to enter their password and PIN code, similar to the Google Chrome app

An easy-to-use virtual mouse including:

Finger control

Single and Double Tap for Left Mouse Click operation

Right Mouse Click by tapping with two fingers

A virtual keyboard for data input

Send Key utilities (for example, ‘CTRL+ALT+DELETE’)

Zoom and Zoom Out

“As tablet growth approached almost 10% in the 3rd quarter (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20140911PD201.html), it has created an exciting opportunity for companies to utilize a hosted virtual desktop offering like webHVD,” said Mike Chase, CTO at dinCloud. “Users want to connect to legacy applications from any device, and now that Android has an extension for Chrome, we provide an application for this without traditional and costly VDI set up when using a Windows virtual desktop in the cloud.”
