PRLog -- Directors together with current apprentices of Field International Ltd, a Poole based company specialising in advanced engineering in the aerospace sector, supported a recent event at Poole High School to promote engineering apprenticeships. Ten local firms involved in engineering and manufacturing attended the evening sponsored Nat West Bank and accountants Princecroft Willis.
Field International’
s Managing Director, Richard Marples, a former apprentice himself, commented, “Apprentices are a key factor in securing the future of our business, they are enthusiastic, energetic and have lots of new ideas.” He added “It’s important for companies like Field International to explain to boys and girls still at school the exciting opportunities that exist in engineering and the high skill levels required to meet the exacting standards of customers such as Rolls Royce and Boeing.”
Richard concluded “The Apprentice TV show is nothing at all like a real apprenticeship where teamwork and co-operating with others is vital. Good communication skills are needed as is the ability to co-operate and share information – and of course it’s always good to learn and get paid at the same time!”
