This unexpected demise brings to mind the notice read in the NZ Herald April 2013. “Crewe ‘plant’ cop dies”

Detective Inspector Bruce Hutton & Len Johnson planted a shell case to manufacture evidence that Arthur Allen Thomas’s rifle had been used for the killing of Harvey and Jeannette Crewe.

Police would not investigate their own even after a a royal commission of inquiry strongly criticised their actions.

Arthur Allen Thomas was released after being pardoned and awarded NZ$950,000 in compensation for his 9 years in prison and loss of the use of the farm.

At Hutton's funeral, Deputy Commissioner Mike Bush praised Mr Hutton and said he was known for having "integrity beyond reproach". An editorial in the NZ Herald said: "that was clearly absurd. It was also an unthinking or calculated insult to Mr Thomas, who spent nine years in prison before being pardoned". Thomas, now 75 years old, responded by saying the police were engaged in "a blatant cover up"

That Barry Young has died is probably going to relieve him of owning up to his similar manufacturing of evidence as Hired Gun for Maritime New Zealand which resulted in the wrong skipper being prosecuted & convicted for M Pigneguy’s violations with the Waiheke ro/ro ferry , Seaway ll.

Bolton’s verified evidence as to the facts of the case was deliberately misconstrued & denied by Barry Young who disregarded his sworn Code of Conduct as a purported Expert Witness to be primarily of “Help to the Court”

It appears that Barry Young had two aspects to his personality similar to Bruce Hutton who also sacrificed his integrity to frame an innocent man.
