Jessica Yee Named Art Director, Wedding Story Writer

Founder Michelle McMurray de Luces made the announcement adding that “Jessica is a real gem for our venture and we look forward to the amazing talent and inspiration she will bring to each and every one of our clients.”

Yee is a Cary, NC entrepreneur, operating her own studio where she performs calligraphy and engraving for a clientele that is not just local, but international.  With over 25 years of experience in calligraphy, Yee brings a keen eye and both modern and traditional flair to her art projects.

“This is a real asset for Wedding Story Writer,” Luces said.  Yee’s responsibilities include supervising all artistic elements of a project, including designing illuminated calligraphy and establishing an essential cohesiveness in all art depicts in the final wedding story book.

Wedding Story Writer was founded in 2011 and produces exquisite custom-designed wedding story books.  Up to a year goes into the development and production of the final piece, which contain extraordinarily detailed paintings, pen and ink sketches, dramatic graphic design, artistic typography and calligraphy, and fine bookbinding.

A team of nine writers around the world chooses detailed words to capture a couple’s love story, their engagement and, of course, the always-special wedding day. Yee will work with illustrators and artists to create likenesses of the couple and carefully incorporate intricate designs on each page of each fully-customized book. Handmade genuine leather covers, acid-free archival papers, raised-spine bands and 22kt gold accents are some elements that can be utilized in each design.
