Interview with CEO Moataz Al Khayyat on the UCC's position within the Qatari hospitality sector

DOHA, Qatar - Dec. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- This statement follows closely on Qatar Sports Minister Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali’s claim that the 2022 World Cup will set a benchmark of excellence that will be "almost impossible to beat.” Indeed, Qatar is spending billions of dollars to build the metro, shopping centres and stadia ahead of the ‘biggest show on earth’, with a commitment to also increase hotel capacity to 90,000 rooms.

Moataz Al Khayyat is in no doubt that the Sultanate will meet its targets, commenting: “Qatar is determined to welcome world-class footballers and their fans in style, with UCC currently working on a number of hospitality projects, ranging from five-star hotels through to resorts. We are confident that Qatar can match, and in some ways maybe even exceed, the successes of our friends in the United Arab Emirates.”

UCC, also the main contractor behind the Mall of Qatar, believes that its hospitality projects will rival the best in the world, with Moataz Al Khayyat concluding: “I have no doubt that the hotels and resorts we are currently working on will set a new standard for Qatar; in fact, I am genuinely excited for both the our company and the country.”
