Flinn Broadcasting is proud to announce the launch of a brand new radio station in Memphis. At 10pm December 7th 96.1 WIVG became BOOMIN 96 playing "Throwback Hip Hop"! Focused on the Biggest hip hop songs from the 80s, 90s and early 2000's from artists like 2Pac, Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, LL Cool J, Notorious B.I.G, Run DMC, Three 6 Mafia and more. Operations Manager Chris Taylor said "Flinn Broadcasting launched the first true hip hop station in Memphis in 1996 with HOT 107, now BOOMIN 96 is here to relive those days! General Manager Duane Hargrove who over see's both stations commented that the Mid South has a hip hop station for 18 to 34 with HOT 107 and now 25 to 54 with BOOMIN 96. In the coming days the addition of translator 96.3 simulcast to complete market coverage.
