Reliable Manufacturing addresses reliability and sustainability at SABIC STM-11 in Saudi Arabia

Dec. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- At the 11^th SABIC Technical Meeting (STM-11), Andrew Fraser, Managing Director of change management consultancy Reliable Manufacturing, delivered a keynote presentation as the event’s first international speaker. Held on the 2^nd – 5^th November 2014 at Al-Jubail Industrial City, the conference’s overarching theme of ‘Commitment to Reliability and Sustainability’ brought together SABIC manufacturing and technical professionals from across the globe for expert discussion, stories of success and cultural entertainment.

Fraser’s presentation highlighted the relationship between reliability and sustainable business practice - and how to make it happen. Titled ‘Using Reliability to unlock sustainable business success’, he addressed how and why reliability should be adopted within a business context, as well as its relationship with safety

“Many organisations overlook reliability and its relationship with safety, cost efficiency and business performance,” explains Fraser. “Reliability should receive a similar level of executive attention as safety in manufacturing-based businesses. It plays a vital role in increasing production output, product quality and yield, safety and environmental performance, and customer satisfaction, as well as enabling sustainable cost reductions; it should be a core value in every organisation.”

The presentation explained how to achieve substantial benefits through an organisation-wide reliability strategy, drawing an enthusiastic response from fellow manufacturing industry experts.
