Follow on Google News | Sous Vide Cuisine Announced Today that it has Launched Sousvant as a Kickstarter Projecthttps://www.kickstarter.com/ Unlike any circulator currently available, the SousVant is a full-fledged kitchen appliance, attractive enough to be left out on the counter. Designed specifically to be used every day by the home chef, SousVant is the first sous vide circulator that requires no assembly, is easy to use, attractive, and entirely self-contained. All that is required from the user is to plug it in, set the temperature, add the food, and press Cook. Sous Vide is a cooking technique, employed for years by many of the finest restaurants, in which food is cooked in vacuum-sealed bags, at low temperatures, for extended periods. The U.S. National Restaurant Association named sous vide in its top five food preparation methods for 2014. Its acceptance in the home kitchen has to this point, however, been slow, due to the complicated and inconvenient nature of the devices so far offered in the market. SousVant aims to correct that problem, beginning this week with a Kickstarter campaign to bring the product to the public. Says Rich Moran, Sous Vide Cuisine co-founder, “We started this venture when my co- founder received a book from his wife on sous vide cooking techniques. He went out looking to purchase a home sous vide appliance, and came home empty handed. Everything he found was difficult to use, too large, too expensive, or simply inadequate. That began a four year collaboration to design and refine a dedicated sous vide cooking appliance that is attractive, effective and easy to use. “ “Consumers are looking for appliances attractive enough that they can be left on the counter where they will be used every day. The SousVant is a sophisticated product that I think will be embraced by my customers”, said Charles Nelson, CEO, Toque Blanche. End
