(POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – PR LOG – December 4, 2014) Award-winning home improvement show Designing Spaces™ will feature Dorel Juvenile’s Safety 1st in the “Big Reveal” episode of the “Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” on Friday, December 5 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime.

During the segment “Hidden Hazards in the Home” Safety 1st will help childproof the townhouse of a deserving military veteran and his family.

“Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” three-part miniseries presented by Nissan, aired on consecutive Fridays, November 21, 28 and will conclude with the Big Reveal on December 5, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime. The series is hosted by “The Gunny”, R. Lee Ermey.

The series shows the step-by-step makeover of a Summerville S.C. townhouse for the family of a young wounded veteran, Stephen Lunt, who sacrificed for our country. While in Afghanistan, Lunt was forced to fight an insurgent in hand-to-hand combat, resulting in injuries, surgeries, and a long and painful recovery.

Viewers will need to tune-in to hear his inspiring full story.

Toni Anderson of Teh Happy Housewife, a Safety 1st partner, was on location for the series to help the Lunt family with childproofing the home and offer expert tips on keeping their baby boy safe. She'll take viewers room by room to look at what can be done to amke the home safer as well as discuss finding hazards on the child’s level, locking up cleaning products, strapping furniture to the wall and more.

Viewers will see in action the ease of installation of foam bumper guards, hazard gates, toilet locks and cabinet latches systems to reduce the dangers in the child’s environment.

At the conclusion of the segment, Andersen presents a generous gift of a pair of car seats to the couple.

Host R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny”, is a retired United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and Drill Instructor and is best known for his TV and Movie career which has spanned over three decades, including his break-out role as the tough drill instructor Gunnery Sergeant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunnery_Sergeant) Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_Metal_Jacket).
