BEAVERTON, Ore. - Dec. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Purchasing a smartphone without a 2 year contract is possible but comes to a dead end if it will not work on a no contract cellphone carrier. A cellphone carrier such as Ting offers almost all Sprint smartphones to make the switch with a long list of brands that will work on their network. Ting also provides the option to look up your smartphone’s ESN/MEID number to make certain any mobile phone that is brought over to their network will work without issue.

Ting is now able to offer the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s directly from their website.

One of the hurdles to overcome when choosing a mobile phone carrier that does not lock you into long term contracts is having the pay full retail price for the smartphone. However, Ting does provide several ways to purchase smartphones at a discounted price. This includes used or refurbished smartphones at an attractive price since they have been used or where repaired and set to manufacturer approved condition.

Once such place to visit is Glyde which offers smartphones at attractive discounted prices making these popular phones available to almost everyone. Ting (http://ting.7eer.net/c/69267/76893/2020) also offers refurbished cellphones directly on their site. Note, that not all mobile phones are available at used or refurbished prices as this can depend on what’s in stock. As of this writing the iPhone 5 is being offered at around $200 and the iPhone 4s for about $100. The cheapest prices are usually the used phones whereas the refurbished will cost about $100 more per device.

Nexus 5, HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5 is now also available without contract from Ting.

Another option is to browse eBay and Amazon listings for used smartphones and bid on them or simply pay the asking price if you cannot wait for the auction to end. Just be certain they are all Sprint phones or they will not work. Another popular budget smartphone with Ting users is the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

If cellphone subscribers pay an early termination fee in order to break their contract and come to Ting, they give a credit for 25% of the ETF, up to $75 per device.
To put that into perspective, the average bill for one smartphone is about $26, so that’s almost three months of free service!
However, up until January 5th, Ting will be doubling that by offering up to 50% for a maximum credit of $150. Simply go to their site (http://ting.7eer.net/c/69267/76893/2020)  to take advantage of the offer plus an additional $25 off of service or smartphone purchase. That’s a total of $175.

Getting started is easy but it is important to also remember that a “micros SIM” is required in order to work with the Ting carrier network (which uses the Sprint network.) If there is one provided already on the Nexus 5 smartphone via Sprint it will work right away. Ting also provides micro SIM cards on their website for about $9.
