American Paper & Twine Co. Announcing The Teacher of the Week - Week Fifteen

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dec. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- American Paper & Twine Co., Titans Radio and Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers announced Bethanie Reynolds, a Math and Science teacher from Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, was selected as Teacher of the Week, for week fifteen of the Tennessee Titans 2014 football season.

“Over the last several Titans seasons, we have read thousands of Teacher of the Week nominations,” said Ruth Elliott, American Paper & Twine Co. Director of Marketing. “The nominees and winners are great examples of the roll that teachers play in helping students achieve success academically and beyond.  We are proud to honor Ms. Reynolds with this week’s award for her commitment to her students and their academic, as well as, personal development.”

Ms. Reynolds was nominated by Jennifer Parris, a co-worker and Chattanooga School parent. “Enthusiastic Encourager is the best way to describe Bethanie Reynolds. She is, simply put, amazing. Her care and concern for her students is unmatched. She personally did an outstanding job when my daughter was in her math class last year. My child was an average math student but would easily get frustrated and give up when she didn't understand,” Jennifer said.

She continued, “Ms. Reynolds believed in my daughter when she didn't believe in herself and continued working with her, helping her find new ways to understand a concept, encouraging her successes and strengthening her failures. At the end of the year after school had already been recessed for the summer, Ms. Reynolds called me personally because she was so excited to see the score my daughter had made on the TCAP math test. She was literally crying with excitement as she had tested ADVANCED after a year of struggle and disappointment. I cannot think of a more deserving person to be your Teacher of the Week. Bethanie Reynolds is a true champion of children!!!”

Each week during the Titans’ season, submissions are reviewed to find exceptional teachers. The winning teachers receive a $400 gift basket full of supplies for their classroom and two tickets to see a Tennessee Titans home game. A new winner is announced every Tennessee Titans game and at the end of the season a ‘Teacher of the Year’ is selected from the Teacher of the Week winners. This deserving teacher will receive an award, a gift basket of school supplies (worth approx. $800) and tickets to the December 28th game vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
