The results reaffirmed many companies in the insurance industry but raised some cautions about three of the countries most respected brands.

The article also points out something many advisors, economists, and consumers have not considered; raising interest rates could cause policy-owners to drop their fixed products in favor for increased policy benefits. This could put additional strain on insurers.

The article does a great job of bringing a behind the scenes look at rating determinations and liquidity needs for insurers when markets or other factors affect the insurers portfolio. The article does not paint a doom and gloom scenario for these three but does point out that marketing perception does not always equal financial reality
