Olympia Group’s Team is Excited for Company Retreat to Mexico

SAN ANTONIO - Dec. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Every year, the marketing and consulting services firm’s management team and top performing brand representatives go on a retreat. According to Josh, this is intended for two key purposes: to let the team relax, and to give them a new perspective. It also is an opportunity to network with other professionals from around the industry.

Nearby, they will enjoy a world-class golf course, the local beach club, and a number of attractions including Mayan ruins and swimming with dolphins. All in all, it promises to be a trip packed with fun and adventure.

During the event, the Olympia Group team will have the chance to meet professionals from other offices and to share the latest and greatest ideas in marketing. There will even be an award show to recognize thought leaders’ accomplishments from the past year.

Olympia Group Examines the Benefits of Retreats

There are plenty of reasons to send a team on a retreat, according to Josh. These range from rewarding them to gaining new perspective. For the Olympia Group team, this will represent a chance to take a step back from the daily grind of the office in order to reflect on the past year. In doing so, Josh hopes that they will gain a new strategic insight free of the details and minutia that cloud everyday vision.

“When we’re in the office, we unfortunately sometimes lose sight of the forest for the trees,” he explained. “By getting away from it all, we have the chance to consider our work in a new light. This is an excellent chance to consider what we did well and what we did poorly.”

He also reported that he anticipates his team being able to connect better with each other as retreats offer the chance to interact outside of the office context. This helps to develop trust between team members as well as getting them onto the same page.

Josh hopes to use some of the time during this coming retreat to focus on goal setting. He and his team will review their current status and plan goals for the short, medium, and long term growth of the company. He explained that this context is the ideal setting in which to do so because his top team members will be together and wholly focused on planning. “I think that this retreat will give us exactly what we need to excel in the coming year.”
