LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. - Dec. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- It is difficult for many to conceive that the popular Cabo peninsula was devastated by Hurricane Odile just two and a half months ago.  On September 15th, 2014 Odile unleashed its furry on the quiet town of San Jose del Cabo, the home of Baja Brewing Co. and Cabotella Ale.  The city and businesses have done a remarkable job cleaning up and repairing the massive damage.  There are still Hotels, Condominiums and Homes without glass in their windows and the damage is still very apparent everywhere, but the utilities have all been restored and tourists are once again returning to enjoy the warm weather and pristine beaches.

The Baja Brewing Company resumed production of its finely Crafted brews on November 1st, and two of the three Baja Brewing Cantinas are up and operating, once again serving full menus and all their Premium Beers and Ales.  The third Cantina is on schedule to re-open before the end of the year.  “Cabotella Ale production is on schedule and we do not anticipate any beer shortages,” says Jordan Gardenhire, President and founder of Baja Brewing Company.

Baja Brewing Company like so many other businesses in San Jose was not spared from damage.   The brewery got busy right away, cleaning up and rebuilding from the storm.  Unfortunately, more than just buildings were in need of help.  There are over 140,000 people living in and around the towns of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, and many were affected in some way by the hurricane.  Wanting to do their part, Cabotella Ale in conjunction with Baja Brewing Company started “A Buck for Baja”, the Hurricane Relief effort launched in the United States to aid the victims of Hurricane Odile.

Cabotella’s “A Buck for Baja” program will donate $1.00 for every case sold of Cabotella Mexican Ale through 2014.  The ale can be purchased at select locations throughout the West and South West United States. About Baja Brewing Company and Cabotella

Founded in 2007 by Jordan Gardenhire, Charlie Gardenhire and Rob Kelly, the Baja Brewing Company is the first brewery in Baja California Sur. From the start, the company’s mission was to bring a craft brewing culture to Mexico similar to that in Colorado, where Jordan, Baja Brewing Company’s brewmaster, first began brewing beer while in college at the University of Colorado, Boulder.  Baja Brewing Company’s flagship Ale, Cabotella, is small-batch Mexican Beer, brewed using 100 percent two-row barley, malted and all-natural ingredients with no additives or preservatives.

With three brewpubs in Cabo San Lucas featuring eight beers on tap, including seasonal beers, the Baja Brewing Company produced 2,400 barrels in 2013. Focusing on all-natural and local ingredients, the brewery distributes in San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas and throughout Mexico, supplying restaurants, bars and liquor stores. In 2012, Baja Brewing Company entered the U.S. market with the introduction of its flagship Mexican ale, Cabotella, in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, and is now available across the rest of the country at various online retailers.
