Degafloor car park decking at City Training Services

Dec. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Respected training and apprenticeship provider, City Training Services (CTS), has recently commissioned refurbishment works to their adjoining car park in Bradford, West Yorkshire to address serious water ingress and to improve the user experience in terms of safety and aesthetics.

Whilst the overall car park was in good general condition, the existing waterproof decking system was failing, resulting in rapid deterioration and water ingress, which required urgent attention to prevent long term structural degradation and health and safety issues.

Makers Construction Ltd, one of the most highly regarded contractors in the parking sector, with a broad portfolio of prestigious projects across the UK, were asked by Degafloor to assist CTS, provide advice and carry out the necessary works to deliver a waterproof and aesthetic deck finish.

Having completed a thorough assessment of all problem areas and requirements, Makers Construction Ltd recommended using the ultra-fast curing and exceptionally hardwearing Degafloor CP TD car park decking system, including a fully fleeced membrane layer. This innovative solution has been designed specifically for top decks of multi-storey car parks where a flexible waterproof membrane is required to protect against structural movement and water ingress that can result in the decline of concrete structures.

The ultra-fast curing CP TD system is extremely durable and cures fully within just one hour of installation, after which it is ready for immediate use. In addition to its time saving benefits, Degafloor CP TD also provides exceptional skid resistance, crack free performance and colour stability in all conditions, making it the perfect choice for areas where longevity and outstanding performance is required throughout the year.

A total area of 900 sq m was covered with Degafloor CP TD system. The curbs and upstands were coated with a full system to create a fully tanked solution; disabled bays were also added and the layout was re-configured to maximise parking spaces and ensure the refurbished car park is not only safe and aesthetically pleasing, but also practical for all stuff members and visitors.
