Dec. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- The Costa Rican real estate market is unique, in that many sellers are throwing in the furnishings and whatever else they can to sweeten the pot and get buyers to sell. This means that buyers have their pick of homes that they can either live in themselves or turn around and rent out to generate income. Costa Rica is a hugely popular tourist destination and nearly every property down there can be used as a short-term vacation rental.

There is a listing down in Uvita that holds true to this trend. It is a parcel of land that has two fully furnished beach cottages and a lot being sold all together for $420,000. The seller is also willing to sell each house or the lot separately, as each parcel is properly registered and titled individually.

The cottages were designed in a New Jersey Shore style on zero lot lines as the property is deep rather than wide. The first cottage has an open floor plan with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it's own laundry room. There is an office with a separate entry that could be used as a home office or rented out as another bedroom. The second cottage is also arranged with an open floor plan and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a built in office alcove. The lot resides behind the two cottages and is 5,400 square feet.

Both homes were designed and constructed in 2008 with tile flooring and wood paneling on the ceiling. The both have air conditioning, a security system, TV, internet, and telephone. They are both currently renting as short-term vacation homes and are bringing in approximately $1,650 per month.

Uvita is a quiet little town just 11 miles south of Dominical along Coastal Highway 34. The beaches surrounding Uvita are part of the park system and will not be developed, so the region will remain as largely untouched paradise. The region is also home to a number of international expats, mostly from the US, Canada, and Europe. Neither town is big or overpowering, they feel quaint while still providing shopping and banking amenities. GolfĂto, with its duty free shopping zone, is just under 2 hours away. The Golfito area is being developed to host a large state of the art marina and resort. There are plans to revitalize the town and it is expected that the region will explode with more visitors, more amenities, more labor and more real estate demand.

This listing was discovered by Margo and Jeff Ackerman when they were exploring the area.
