New Jazz Schedule Announced

MONTEREY, CA -- He’s Dr. David Morwood, a plastic surgeon extraordinaire by day and by evening he is Dr. Jazz. Morwood is the jazz director at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa as well as the house drummer. Every Friday night at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa Morwood cuts the snare drum with the precision of a surgeon. The Fireplace Lounge at the Hyatt Regency Monterey has become one of the most sought-after spots for Monterey Bay area nightlife on weekend nights and Sunday mornings. The Lounge features the soothing sounds of jazz provided by Dr. David Thomas Morwood, Marshall Otwell and various guest performers along with a menu of small plates and appetizers, signature cocktails and an extensive wine list highlighting wines from Italy and California

·        Friday, December 12 and Saturday, December 13^th -- Lent guitar great with Billy Bosch bass, David Morwood drums. Lent has toured and recorded with the Barry Manilow orchestra for years and has performed on Broadway, the Vegas strip, and in Europe.   Not to be missed by any jazz guitar fan!

·        Friday, December 19^th and Saturday, December 20^th -- Paul Contos Sax great, with Eddie Mendenhall keyboards, young Phenom Kanoa Mendenhall bass, David Morwood drums. Paul has toured and recorded from Brazil to Asia to Europe and has thrilled audiences with his performing, arranging, conducting and composing.

·        Thursday, December 25^th --  Special Christmas Dinner with the David Morwood Jazz Band with select guests. Join us in TusCA Ristorante or our newly designed Fireplace Lounge. Music for dining and dancing, celebrating, and raising Christmas Cheer!

·        Friday, December 26^th and Saturday, December 27^th -- Gary Meek/David Morwood Jazz - Gary has toured and recorded with many great artists such as Dionne Warwick, Al Jerreau, and currently drum great Dave Weckl to NYC, Hollywood, and Yoshi's Oakland

·        Wednesday, December 31^st -- Special Happy New Year Celebration with the David Morwood Jazz Band and select friends - Dining and Dancing, special TusCA Ristorante menu  selections to celebrate the New Year, say hello to 2015 and goodbye to 2014 in our Lounge with our huge fireplace for special festivities.
