Rosatom’s TVEL Fuel Company to supply Nuclear Fuel to Ukraine

Nov. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Russia to supply nuclear fuel to Ukraine as part of cooperation between Rosatom’s “TVEL” Fuel Company and NNEGC "Energoatom"

SE NNEGC "Energoatom" operates all four existing NPPs in Ukraine; the enterprise acquires fresh nuclear fuel under the contracts with “TVEL” Fuel Company and Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB.

CEO of Rosatom Sergey Kirienko reported that Rosatom had concluded a contract with Ukraine for supplying nuclear fuel to the country’s NPPs in 2015.

“This is not an easy period for relations between our countries, but we have never failed to supply fuel,” he said.

According to Mr. Kirienko, CEO of Rosatom, said“Russian nuclear fuel is supplied to Ukraine’s NPPs according to the schedule, and this has never been interrupted. He emphasized that foreign contracts in various countries provide for 27 power units for NPPs.” Mr. Kirienko added that at present, nuclear power should not be influenced by politics and emphasized that Ukrainian partners also make payments and meet their financial liabilities in due time.
