Follow on Google News | South Indian Style Shrimp Fried Rice RecipeBy: JusFood Preparation time: 10 minutes Cooking time: 15 minutes Rice Ingredients: 1 cup basmati rice 2 tablespoon oil Ginger & Garlic paste - 2 tablespoon 2 green chilies (Finely chopped) Medium sized onion 1 (Finely chopped) 1 small sized capsicum (Finely chopped) Soya sauce to taste Vinegar / lemon water to taste Salt to taste Sugar to taste (Not mandatory) Black pepper powder - ½ table spoon Chopped spring onion - ¼ cup Shrimps (Prawns) Ingredients: 100gms of well cleaned shrimps Chili powder - 1 tablespoon Salt to taste Soya sauce to taste Lime / vinegar to taste Direction: Basmati Rice Cooking method: 1. Wash basmati rice well to remove starches 2. Heat 5 cups of water and add basmati rice 3. Don't boil basmati rice well; just boil it until the 1st layer getting soft. Let the inner layer of rice remain hard. Take boiled rice aside in a bowl. </br> Direction to Prepare prawn rice with cooked basmati rice: 1. Now, wash prawns properly and take it into a bowl. 2. Add soya sauce, Chili powder, salt to taste & lemon juice in the bowl and mix well together. 3. Heat few spoons of oil in a saucepan and fry prawns well for 2 to 3 minutes and take aside 4. In the same saucepan, add ¾th of chopped onion, capsicum, green chilies, ginger & garlic paste and saute for a minute 5. Now add pepper powder and sugar to taste. (As mentioned in ingredients section, 6. adding sugar is not mandatory) 7. Add some soya sauce & lemon juice into pan and saute them well. 8. Add fried prawns and mix well with veggies for a minute 9. Now add in cooked rice 10. Now add remaining veggies into the rice mixture and saute them again for a minute, mix well all together and serve! Note: Tomato sauces or chili sauces are the best choice to have as a side dish with prawn fried rice. Some people will prefer dry version of egg crunch fry along with prawn fried rice; this will doubles the taste for sure. Serving shrimp rice with round shaped onion slices is the best and simple choice ever. For the best result of Shrimp (prawn) rice, we can use the rice boiled one day before and refrigerated.
