The Kettle Bells Are Ringing, We Need You Singing!

AKRON, Ohio - Nov. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Calling all singers and musicians!!!  The kettle bells are ringing but we need you singing!  Jeanette Brown, Community Relations, Public Relations and Volunteer Manager of The Salvation Army of Summit County, is putting out the call for local musicians to help brighten the Christmas holidays at all Red Kettle locations.

"Everyone enjoys the sound of music filliing the air," said Brown.  "Whether it's a solo singer, a duet, a trombonist or a 4-piece brass band, music really engages and energizes the people who give to our kettle campaign."

Church music groups, school groups, musical families, music schools and individuals are all encouraged to help fill the air with the glorious sounds of harmony.  Brown explained that the musicians will work in tandem with kettle bell-ringers so that they can focus on their music.  "Our kettles are staffed by volunteers Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at various locations, many of them indoors," she added.  "Volunteer musicians are welcome to sign up for an hour or two at a location near their home."

Salvation Army kettles are located at 47 different locations throughout Summit County.  "I'm sure there's one in every neighborhood, making it convenient for local musicians to help out," said Brown.
