How To Ensure Your Political Party An Additional 5 Million Votes

NEW ORLEANS - Nov. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Democrats and Republicans are debating whether President Obama violated the Constitution by using his executive power to change U.S. immigration law. Since Obama announced he would defer deportations for specific categories of immigrants and allow approximately 5 million to stay and work here legally—and to possibly get citizenship here in the US, has spurred ongoing controversy.

Running a country is like running a business. It takes a team to operate and sustain a successful company. There is no I in team, and as a successful businesswoman I personally know that it is a group effort towards a mutual goal that garners success. Unfortunately, President Obama’s actions were contrary to this philosophy. He continues to defend his decision to take executive action, saying that he did it for humane and justified reasons. While Obama has repeatedly defended himself, citing the fact that he has issued fewer executive actions than most of his predecessors, my opinion is that quality of an executive order, not quantity is at the heart of this matter. Much like the insightful, witty parody SNL did on Obama’s immigration ruling, there is a big difference between an executive decision declaring a new holiday versus granting roughly about 5 million people the right to stay in the US and be (or continue to be) dependents of the US taxpayer. This decision will weigh heavy upon US citizens for generations to come. Obama had the opportunity to take executive action on this situation years ago. The reason he never did it was because he was up for re-election last go-round and did not want to step on any toes. Now that it is impossible for him to be re-elected the president’s decision was far from ethical and much more political. The 5 million people he granted amnesty for, are also an additional 5 million votes for the Democratic Party. He can say all he wants about how noble the intent behind his actions were, but all it takes is situational awareness to know the President’s true motives behind his executive order.
