Introducing a 21st Century Christmas Special

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Nov. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- One of the keys to being successful in a competitive marketplace is by staying a few steps ahead of other businesses while being tied into how your customers shop. With people being connected wirelessly throughout their day, thanks to smartphones, it can be easier than ever to directly target customers with limited time deals and other exclusive offers. One jewelry store is doing just that by introducing a Christmas special that will be changing several times between now and December 24th.

“People want to feel like they are part of something special, like they are getting a deal reserved only for them,” said Kevin Freeland, senior sales associate with Brian Michael’s Jewelers. “It’s a way of feeling like they are getting beyond the velvet rope before anyone else. Thanks to all of the social media platforms that are available to us, we are able to tailor specific sales that directly address what people are looking to buy or what new items we have just gotten in stock. For instance, a designer comes out with a new line of diamond engagement rings. We know people shop for engagement rings at this time of year, so we put out a limited time sale that goes directly to their smart phones. Suddenly they feel like they’re on the ‘A-list’ and they come down to see the selection.”

Mr. Freeland did make a point of emphasizing that, although the sales are announced and controlled through the internet, if they are purchased at the jewelry store and not through online sales, they come with an extra gift. “By encouraging people to come down and visit our location, it plants the seed in their mind of all that we have to offer. Someone looking just for Christmas jewelry online might not take the time to click over into our wedding jewelry section, but by being inside the store, they will see the engagement rings and think about us when the time comes for their proposal.” The number of Christmas specials they plan to run was still undetermined at this point, he said, and would be determined by how successful each special was, a flexibility that they wouldn’t have if they relied on more traditional routes of advertising.
