Elliott Broidy Stands behind the American Ballet Theater in the Holiday Season

As the ballet company continues its 75th anniversary year, the holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker” is expected to be better than ever.

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Elliott Broidy, Philanthropist and CEO, was seen at the Los Angeles event, “Stars under the Stars” to help benefit the American Ballet Theater and help launch the 75th anniversary season. Now the celebrated dance company is dancing into their holiday season, including performances of the infamous Christmas favorite, The Nutcracker.

This Los Angeles event raised $250,000 for the American Ballet Theater, with more events planned for this year to celebrate the esteemed 75th anniversary. Broidy is eager to continue donating to the arts and excited for what the holiday season will bring to the internationally recognized American Ballet Theater.

The fall gala, held at Jeanne and Tony Pritzker’s home in Beverly Hills, included dinner and a decadent dessert buffet but the highlight of the event was the dance performance by the American Ballet Theater, which included excerpts from classics “Cinderella,” “Swan Lake,” “Seven Sonatas” and “Toccare.

Joining Broidy on the guest list was Broidy's wife, Robin, Jane Kaczmarek, of “Malcom in the Middle,” Soraya and Younes Nazarian, Amanda and Nick Stonnington, Cindy and Dick Troop and Christina Lyon, amongst others. Joining guests were American Ballet Theater principals Veronika Part, Hee Seo and Cory Stearns; soloists Alexandre Hammoudi, Christine  Shevchenko and Devon Teuscher and corps de ballet members Blaine Hoven, Luciana Paris and Arron Scott.

Broidy founded Broidy Capital Management in 1991, where he currently serves as Chairman and CEO. The success of his investment firm has helped Broidy become a leading philanthropist with numerous projects, with a special emphasis on improving his hometown, the great city of Los Angeles.

Broidy was appointed by Secretary Michael Chertoff to serve on the United States Homeland Security Advisory Council and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Police Foundation. Broidy was also appointed by the President to serve on the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington. In 2013, Elliott Broidy served as executive producer for the movie ‘Sugar,' an independent film that tells the story of a young woman living on the streets of Venice Beach, California. Broidy also helped Hounds for Heroes begin local efforts in providing service animals with wounded veterans across Southern California.
