McCarthy Moves to Larger San Diego Headquarters

SAN DIEGO - Nov. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., one of the nation’s oldest and largest privately held construction firms, has moved its San Diego operations to a new 17,000-square-foot office headquarters located within Sky Park Office Plaza at 9275 Sky Park Court, Suite 200, San Diego, Calif. 92123.  Previously housed at 6165 Greenwich Drive in Governor Park, the company began occupying its new space on November 24^th.

Since the early 80s, McCarthy has been building major projects in San Diego County, including the J. Craig Venter Institute, La Jolla; Math+Science Complex at San Diego Mesa College; Camp Pendleton Naval Replacement Hospital, in conjunction with Clark Construction; Rady Children’s Hospital Acute Care Pavilion; UCSD Moores Cancer Center; Torrey Pines Lodge; Estancia Hotel; and the internationally acclaimed Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

Recently, the firm received two Orchid Awards from the San Diego Architectural Foundation for construction of the new UCSD Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility and the new San Diego County Waterfront Park, for which it served as the design-builder.

In 2005, McCarthy made a permanent commitment to the San Diego community when it opened an office headquarters in Governor Park, and twice expanded its space to keep pace with the growth of its staff and operations.
