Legal Services of Northern California Join National #GivingTuesday Movement

Nov. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) has joined #GivingTuesday for their third annual day of giving in which thousands of non-profits are collaborating to transform the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world. Taking place December 2, 2014, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national movement around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.

LSNC joined the movement to raise awareness for its non-profit dedicated to helping low income people achieve stability and justice by challenging the causes and effects of poverty within the community. Their goal is to raise $3,000 through their #GivingTuesday social media campaign which, in turn, will help fund work on cases that require greater resources, time and expertise.

Last year, LSNC helped over 36,000 families and individuals, some on the brink of homelessness and financial crisis who live without access to the basic necessities so many of us enjoy. No one should have to suffer through neglect, which is why our programs help challenge the causes and effects of poverty.
