Source4teachers Recognizes Meyer Weintraub As 2014 Impact Award Recipient

Award Announced on Substitute Educators Day as part of National Education Association’s 92nd Annual American Educators Week
CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Nov. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Source4Teachers, a leader in the placement of substitute teachers and school support staff at more than 160 public school districts in the U.S., today announced that it has established an annual award, the “Source4Teachers Impact Award” and has named its first recipient – Meyer Weintraub. The award coincides with National Substitute Educators Day, Friday, November 21, 2014, which is part of the National Education Association's 92nd annual American Education Week.

The Source4Teachers Impact Award was created to recognize and honor a Source4Teachers-employed substitute teacher or school aide for a their contribution in three categories:  The total number of days worked in a one-year period (November 1, 2013 through November 1, 2014); feedback from the school district(s) in which he or she worked; and a proven commitment to going above and beyond what is expected out of their role.  Meyer Weintraub worked 194 days in one year, was routinely praised by the district in which he most regularly worked (Neshaminy School District in PA), and regularly supported autistic students inside and outside of the classroom.

“Substitute Educators Day is perhaps the most meaningful day that Source4Teachers can honor and say ‘thank you’ to the thousands of people who play a very significant role in education,” stated Jeff Fox, Chief Executive Officer of Source4Teachers.  “We have living proof that a substitute teacher not only plays an active and noticeable role in children’s lives, but in the case of Meyer Weintraub, we’re seeing someone who—through his dedication and compassion— is improving lives.”

About the Impact Award & Meyer Weintraub
As part of recognizing Mr. Weintraub, Source4Teachers is awarding him with two awards—a cash award in the amount of $500 and an additional $500 to be donated to the school of his choosing in the Neshaminy School District.  Source4Teachers will also present Mr. Weintraub with a plaque for his unwavering commitment to teaching.

“I really can’t speak highly enough of Mr. Weintraub’s commitment and dedication,” said Theresa Haleman, Administrative Assistant at the Tawanka Learning Center in Neshaminy School District, Langhorne, PA. “Outside of his always being on-time and available, Mr. Weintraub works challenging assignments that are mainly one-on-one with autistic students that are 17 years old or older.” Haleman went on to state, “Normally, Mr. Weintraub drives to the school, parks his car, then goes with the student to his job at a local school cafeteria. Mr. Weintraub will assist him for half of the day then drive back to school and assist other students in learning important life skills. In many ways, he’s more of a life coach than a teacher or aide. He’s really remarkable.”

Weintraub is a retired Philadelphia teacher and his wife is currently a teacher in the Philadelphia area.
