Follow on Google News | ProtoHack Announces Fiscal Sponsorship with Independent Arts and MediaBy: ProtoHac Inc. “The decision for ProtoHack to become a non-profit stems from our desire to reach more people with tech ideas and break down any barriers holding back non-technical entrepreneurs from pursuing their goals.” says Cole Fox, CEO & Founder of ProtoHack. “Entrepreneurship is vital to our economy and we realized early on that offering our code-free hackathons at no charge was the right move. It provides an avenue for those without a technical background to break into market in a way they may have never been able to.” ProtoHack has already held code-free hackathons in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York this year and saw great success, welcoming 800 participants in total. “The ability to offer these events at no charge and accept tax-deductible donations will help us reach those who may not be able to attend our events otherwise. In each of these cities we have seen several participants develop projects that not only place in our hackathon challenge but are also viable as a future product on the market. Equipping non-technical founders with the tools they need to start their own companies has the potential to change entrepreneurs’ ProtoHack’s mission is to enable and show non-coders that they can create something amazing without the ability to code or program.
