Twin Tier Solar and Wind Awarded Massive Solar Farm Project

ELMIRA, N.Y. - Nov. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Twin Tier Solar and Wind, a full service solar and wind energy company, headquartered in Elmira Heights, New York announced today that it has begun installation of a large solar farm at Houghton College in Allegany County.

Twin Tier Solar and Wind LLC was created in 2009 to meet the rapidly growing demands for alternative energy products in the Twin Tier region of New York state. The company has expertise in design, procurement, installation and service of Photovoltaic(PV), solar energy solutions, as well as small wind solutions.

Twin Tier Solar and Wind is under contract with a large company out of San Diego for completion of this massive project, which will result in the largest solar project that the company has ever undertaken.

"Just to give you an idea of the scope of this project, the typical  home solar system is comprised of 20 solar panels, which generates a total rating of 5400 watts. For this solar farm at Houghton College, we are installing 8,800 solar panels equating to 2,376,000 watts. Now, that's a lot of power."

The installation of this solar farm began in mid-October with a scheduled completion date of late December.
