WILMINGTON, N.C. - Nov. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- A recent article on Kentucky.com entitled "Everyday reading early in life is a priceless investment in a child's future" laid out some startling statistics regarding how important reading skills are in regards to adding value to the lives of future adults. The article referenced a study by from the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine that found that low literacy skills are associated with poor physical and mental health in adults. The article also referenced a survey from the U.S. Department of Education showing that 14 percent of American adults cannot read and 21 percent of American adults read below the fifth grade reading level. Sadly, 19 percent of high school graduates cannot read.
