Results of the contest, announced on November 12, 2014, included more than 400 winners and finalists, including authors from Simon & Schuster, Penguin, John Wiley & Sons, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Kensington Books, Harlequin and McGraw-Hill. The other finalists in the Business: Writing & Publishing division include Breadcrumbs for Beginners: Following the Writing Trail by Dr. Sherry L. Meinberg; Elderwriters: “I am honored and humbled at USA Best Books' seal of approval. It adds additional motivation to my desire to create independent, innovative and iconic authorpreneur,” Carter’s win is representative of the many small and independent publishers whose authors were named finalists this year. The Seven Step Guide to Authorpreneurship (EverFaith Press, June 2014) teaches authors about the business of writing and how to successfully publish and market their book. An international bestseller, Carter’s guide has received strong endorsement from publishing icons such as Dan Poynter, K.M. Weiland, Beat Barblan, Chip MacGregor and Brian Jud for its practical strategies and sage advice for pre- and multi-published authors. According to USABookNews.com, “The USA Best Book Awards are specifically designed to not only garner media coverage and book sales for the winners and finalists but to promote awarded books to the publishing and entertainment industries.” This has been a year of achievement for Carter, who, after being named a two-time finalist in the 2014 Stiletto Women In Business Award competition, won the title of Entrepreneur of the Year (Creative Arts & Media).
