NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, U.K. - Nov. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- AN award-winning restaurant is gearing up for a hectic week with two key events in the pipeline.

Raval Luxury Indian Restaurant will host a private dinner for up to 50 delegates from NOF Energy on Thursday, November 27.

Then, just days later, key business leaders from the North East will join manager Avi Malik in London for the British Curry Awards.

Raval, named Best Restaurant in the North East at last year’s event – dubbed the Curry Oscars – has once again been shortlisted.

Mr Mailk said: “We’re thrilled to be in the running yet again for this prestigious award. I’m not sure if any restaurant has won the title two years in a row but we remain hopeful.”

Mr Malik will be accompanied by North East executives from British Engines, Barrier Group, Meldrum Construction, NOF Energy, Eutechnyx, and de La Rue at the awards ceremony on Monday, December 1.

He received his award last year from former England rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward and host Chris Tarrant, of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? fame. Prime Minister David Cameron was also in attendance.

The event, on December 1, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and final details have yet to be confirmed about this year’s special guests.

More than 200,000 people have voted for their favourite restaurants through the award’s public nomination process.

Mr Malik said: “I’m very much looking forward to this year’s awards ceremony but, to be honest, I’ve barely had time to think about it as we are hosting a major event here at the restaurant less than a week before.”

NOF energy has chosen Raval as the location for a private business development intelligence meeting, where key figures from the oil and gas industry will network and discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

It is the type of corporate event that the restaurant is getting a reputation for hosting, partly because of its convenient location for corporate clients – just a short walk from the Hilton Newcastle-Gateshead – but also because of its outstanding cuisine and service.

Mr Malik added:  “Our relationship with our corporate clients is getting stronger all the time. It’s certainly not unusual for business leaders to discuss deals here.

“I think our location – away from the hub hub of the city centre but close enough to be part of the quayside scene – gives Raval a feeling of exclusivity and intimacy that many restaurants lack.

“And that is something the business community seems to like.”
