Designing Spaces™ and Military Benefit Association Team Up for Military Home Makeover Series

“Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” series airing beginning this Friday, November 21, will chronicle the renovations of the townhouse of a Purple Heart Hero and his family; R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny” to host the series on Lifetime

(POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – PR LOG – November 19, 2014) Award-winning home improvement show Designing Spaces™ will feature Military Benefit Association in the first episode of the “Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” three-part miniseries on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime to talk about protecting a young veteran, his wife and son through life insurance.

“Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” presented by Nissan, will air for three consecutive Fridays, November 21, 28 and December 5, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime and is hosted by “The Gunny”, R. Lee Ermey.

Because Military Benefit Association believes in seeing veterans helping veterans, President Roy Gibson, a veteran himself, was drawn to the “Designing Spaces of Hope – Military Makeover” series, which shows the step-by-step makeover of a  Summerville S.C. townhouse for a family of a young wounded veteran, Stephen Lunt, who sacrificed for our country.

The show will chronicle the renovations of the home of Purple Heart Hero Stephen Lunt, his wife Ashley and their son. While in Afghanistan, Lunt was forced to fight an insurgent in hand-to-hand combat, resulting in injuries, surgeries, and a long and painful recovery. Viewers will need to tune-in to hear his inspiring full story.

Gibson was on location for the renovations and spoke to the Designing Spaces field correspondent Art Edmonds about life insurance and the military family. Military Benefit Association, a not-for profit organization, offers affordable and reliable term life insurance  coverage that is exclusively available to military men and women ages 18 to 60 who are Active Duty, Ready Reservist, or Retired.

In addition to offering life insurance to service men and women, the MBA offers many resources to help military families -- estate planning, financial planning, education and training, health and wellness, will preparation, career planning and more.

To help military families make the most of the down time they have together, membership with the Military Benefit Association has added perks like great discounts on resorts and spas.

Host R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny”, is a retired United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and Drill Instructor and is best known for his TV and Movie career which has spanned over three decades, including his break-out role as the tough drill instructor Gunnery Sergeant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunnery_Sergeant) Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_Metal_Jacket).

Designing Spaces along with their valued partners like Military Benefit Association will take viewers step-by-step along the journey to see how the townhouse, provided mortgage-free by Operation Homefront, is transformed into a more comfortable home for the Lunt family. Through its Homes on the Homefront program, Operation Homefront – with the help of its corporate partners – awards mortgage-free homes to veterans of any era, helping bring the American dream of home ownership to those who have sacrificed so much for their country.
