Nov. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Carval Computing, a specialist supplier of fully integrated Human Resources, Payroll and Time & Attendance (T&A) software, has today announced that the Harlow Education Consortium (HEC) is using Uniwage Payroll to administer payroll services for 33 schools and academies. HEC supplies a variety of ‘back office’ support services for its members including finance, administrative support and procurement as well as ‘front line’ services such as training, educational welfare and family support.  It has been using Carval’s payroll software for over three years to support its fully managed Payroll Service, and has seen an increase in demand from local schools with numbers doubling in the last year.

According to Jennie Rowan, Schools Business Manager at HEC; “Thanks to Carval’s Uniwage Payroll software we have been able to expand our payroll business to administer payroll and pensions for over 2000 employees. We know that schools and academies want a low cost service that is flexible, understands the reality of life in schools and works to tight deadlines. Our feedback shows 100% satisfaction with the service that we provide.”

The Payroll Service team has a team of five, made up of full time and part time staff who administer the monthly payroll for the contracted, casual and supply staff for the schools and academies and their own in-house payroll. Using Carval’s system HEC is able to produce one payslip for each employee, including those who hold multiple posts, as is often the case in many schools.

As well as arranging BACs payments for the schools, calculating occupational payments (sickness, maternity and adoption leave) the Payroll Service team produces monthly and annual Local Government Pension Scheme administration and Teachers’ pensions returns. They’re now working with Carval to develop an education specific self-service system.

John Ovington, Sales and Support Director at Carval Computing said; “Our strong track record in the public sector makes Carval’s solution ideally suited to education providers. HEC is a successful organisation that provides specialist expertise in administration and financial services that frees schools and academies to focus on delivering educational services.  Carval’s Uniwage payroll software enables them to administer the schools’ specific requirements including term time working, multi-post employees and pensions.”

Uniwage can run as a standalone payroll solution or form part of a fully integrated HR, Payroll and Time & Attendance solution with other elements of HR Unity. Carval solutions are available as on premise, hosted or outsourced solutions.
