PERTH, Scotland - Nov. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Glenturret Distillery, the home of The Famous Grouse Experience, is toasting the success of one of its extra special single malts with the news that The Famous Grouse Commonwealth Games 2014 Limited Edition Glenturret Single Malt has been included in a world leading whisky guide, Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.

The 1986 Glenturret single malt has been listed as one of the best whiskies in the world and won the coveted award as the best Single Malt Scotch aged 22-27 years (Multiple Casks) category in whisky expert Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2015. Each Bible edition includes detailed tasting notes on the world’s leading whiskies. This limited edition malt was the only Perthshire whisky to be recognised on the illustrious list.

Currently Whisky of the Month at the Crieff-based distillery, and now a collector’s item, the distillery team are advising people to purchase a bottle now while stocks last.

Lesley Williamson, business development manager of The Famous Grouse Experience commented:

“We pride ourselves at Glenturret on being the most traditionally made whisky distillery, with no computers or machinery and it is fantastic for Glenturret whisky to be recognised on an international level by such a well-known and respected whisky expert. The Famous Grouse was the Official Whisky Provider at this year’s Commonwealth Games too, so it’s really special that this particular whisky has been honoured. The Famous Grouse Commonwealth Games 2014 single malt is our Whisky of the Month throughout November so we hope visitors will snap a bottle up as we expect this limited edition collector’s bottle to sell out.”

This latest accolade is yet another highlight to add to an exciting year for Scotland’s most popular distillery. After a £250,000 refurbishment of its key visitor area and cafe, the distillery was officially re-opened last May by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, whose visit received international media coverage, projecting the distillery’s event facilities across the globe.
