Berthel Fisher moves headquarters back ‘home’ to Cedar Rapids

Nov. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Hunter Companies, in conjunction with Berthel Fisher & Company, would like to announce their plans to develop the Berthel Fisher Financial Center.  This development will be the new home for the national headquarters of Berthel Fisher & Company and will be located on the southeast corner of the 42nd Street and Edgewood Road intersection.

This mixed-use development is roughly 67,000 sq. ft. and will include an estimated 35,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space for Berthel Fisher & Company.  Other walkable amenities will be offered within the Berthel Fisher Financial Center.  These may include commercial services, retail, and restaurant(s).

Berthel Fisher & Company will be relocating their national headquarters as the anchor tenant, in their return to Cedar Rapids. Currently located in Marion, Iowa, Berthel Fisher employs 85 full time home office employees who service approximately 700 Representatives nationwide. Berthel Fisher Family of Companies includes two broker/dealers (Berthel Fisher Financial Services, Inc. and Securities Management & Research, Inc.) as well as a Registered Investment Advisory Firm (BFC Planning, Inc.), an insurance division (Berthel Fisher & Company Insurance, Inc.) and a technology division (iPrism Global, Inc.)

Berthel Fisher’s decision to partner with Hunter Companies on their relocation was due to corporate expansion, technology enhancements and the benefit of their home office staff. “Berthel Fisher & Company is pleased to be moving forward on its new corporate facilities in Cedar Rapids,” says Berthel Fisher CEO Thomas J. The 35,000 square foot office space will allow Berthel Fisher to expand their proprietary technology services, with the capability for future expansion to 50,000 square feet to allow for corporate growth. This expansion will include the addition of a retail space to accommodate additional financial advisors who will service the corridor community with their investment needs. Berthel Fisher will celebrate 30 years in the business in 2015, and feels the relocation is an ideal time to return to its original home of Cedar Rapids.
