New Pediatric Dentist Coming Soon to Gonzales

GONZALES, La. - Nov. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Dr. Erin Maturin, Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, will soon be opening a new pediatric dental practice, Ascension Children’s Dental, in December of this year in Gonzales, Louisiana.

The new office, which will be located on Airline Highway in the new Lagniappe Center development, will provide a variety of dental services for infants, children, teens and special needs patients in Gonzales.

“As a pediatric dentist, my goal is to provide quality dental treatment while teaching the importance of good oral health. As a parent, you can expect I will do everything I can to provide your child with a fun and positive experience at my office so they will look forward to their next visit,” says Dr. Maturin.

Born and raised in Franklin, Louisiana, Dr. Erin Maturin attended Louisiana State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.  She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Dr. Maturin then completed a pediatric dental residency where she received 1^st place in the LSU School of Dentistry Post-Graduate Research Award for her research project on the effect of smokeless tobacco on oral cells. Dr. Maturin also received the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award which honors pediatric dental residents who score in the top three percent on their written board exam..

As medical professionals, pediatric dentists have the opportunity to become certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a challenging endeavor for many. Board Certification is awarded to those individuals who fulfill all necessary requirements including extensive oral and written examinations and demonstrate exceptional dedication to their field.

In September of 2014, Dr. Maturin became Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Since graduation, Dr. Maturin has been practicing in San Antonio and Austin, TX. She is excited about practicing in Louisiana so she can be closer to home and her family.  Dr. Maturin looks forward to serving the families of Gonzales in the very near future.
