Eastbourne Bookfest Book Launch and Management Handover

EASTBOURNE, U.K. - Nov. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Eastbourne Book Fest launched New and Different, the compilation book of the prize winning entries to this years writing competition, at Tome Book shop in Terminus Road on Tuesday, 11th November 2014.  This book was published and sponsored by MyVoice Publishing.

At the launch it was announced that the founder, Brigitte Sumner, is passing over the organisation of the Book Fest.

"it is great to see so much passion for writing in and around Eastbourne Town. It has been a pleasure to create this book.

"Eastbourne Book Festival will continue in the capable hands of New Eastbourne Writers as I continue to watch the progress from my new home in Asia." Says Brigitte Sumner, Founder and organiser of Eastbourne Book Fest for the past three years:

"Welcome to the third compilation of winners and runners up of the Eastbourne Book Fest (formerly Eastbourne Writes) competition. You are holding in your hand a mixture of what has sprouted from the minds of the many talented writers that submitted their work. It wasn't easy for our pre readers and judge Mairin Colleary, Stefani Grabowski and Elly Griffith to decide on winners and worthy of a place in this book. A huge thank you to you all. We thank our sponsors, Anderida Writers, New Eastbourne Writers, Tome Books and My Voice Publishing for their generosity. This year we had a great line up of hosts and presenters: Gillian Toft, Jacq Molloy, Ian Porter, Prof. Nicholas Royle, Laura Crean, Jill Rutherford, Rex Sumner, Paul Howard, Alan Baker, Julius Smit, Eucalyprus and Paprika Tea House, Dickens Tea Cottage, Tennis in the Park Cafe and Little Chelsea Antiques Emporium, a big thank you as you made this year's event very special. And a big shout to our patron Stephen Lloyd, who provided the MP cup for the Best Children's Writing, won by Melissa Caddy (9 years) and runner up was Scarlet Hancock (4 years). We also thank the Eastbourne Herald for their continuous support as well as The Mayor of Eastbourne Clr Janet Coles. It is so important for writing to be a community event. We write all our lives, so why not make it a passion, a delicious pastime as well?

"Enjoy this book,  Perhaps next year we see your poem, story or illustration on one of these pages?"

A special thank you to Brigitte Sumner was proposed by Tony Flood of Anderida Writers, who will be assisting New Eastbourne Writers in running the Eastbourne Book Fest 2015.

MyVoice Publishing confirms they are happy to sponsor next years Festival again, and also offered to critique all participants work for free, offer on their website.

New and Different is available at the special price of £5.99 from most retailers and of course from Tome Books.
