Emily Edwards MSW joins the Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Emily holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Central Florida and is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern with the state of Florida. She has worked with clients addressing various mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Her approach is holistic and recognizes that a person's environment affects each individual and family differently. Her goal is to promote well being by empowering her clients to evaluate challenges, identify personal strengths, and develop strategies for managing and overcoming life's stressors.

She specializes in working with adolescents/children (ages 6 and older) and their families. Emily has been working with adolescents and families for over a decade on increasing self-esteem, managing difficult family dynamics, increasing effective communication skills, and reducing behavioral issues.

When Emily is not working at CCNSB she can be found making a difference in the lives of teens as the Youth Director at Coronado Community United Methodist Church.
