Steve Cook Promoted to Dynetics Vice President for Corporate Development

 
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Nov. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Dynetics CEO Dr. Marc Bendickson announced today that Steve Cook is the company’s new vice president for corporate development. Cook joined the company as director of space technologies in 2009 after serving as manager of Ares projects for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) for five years culminating a 20-year career with the government space agency.

Cook manages the corporate development team, which leads and supports development of company strategies, emerging business opportunities, focused programs and products by working closely with division and business development leadership to initiate and integrate these efforts.

Prior to his tenure as Ares project manager at MSFC, Cook was deputy and acting director of the Space Transportation Programs, deputy manager of the next Generation Launch Technology/Advanced Space Transportation Programs, deputy manager of the Next Generation Launch Technology/Advanced Space Transportation Program and a member of Systems Engineering and Management at Marshall Space Flight Center.

Cook’s honors and awards include the Meritorious Executive Presidential Rank Award for his sustained achievements as manager of the Ares projects; the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal for his exemplary management of the Exploration Launch Projects Office; and a NASA Exceptional Service Medal for outstanding efforts as a member of the Exploration Systems Architecture Study. He also received the Holger Toftoy Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) which recognizes outstanding technical management by a section member in aeronautics and astronautics. He was a nominee for the Rotary Stellar Award, recognizing outstanding achievements by individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to the future of the U.S. Space program. And he received the NASA Outstanding Achievement Medal for exceptional accomplishment in the area of space transportation.

Cook earned a bachelors’ degree in aerospace engineering and mechanics from the University of Minnesota, attended the Harvard Business School’s Leading Product Development Course and received a certification in federal acquisition.
